When I created Moli Brew, there was never any question about what the first coffee in the collection would be.
It had to be Guatemalan.

I was born in Guatemala. Although I've only been back a handful of times and it's been nearly thirty years since my last visit, Guatemala has never stopped being part of who I am.
My heritage, my culture, and the hardworking people who call it home have shaped me in ways that are difficult to explain but impossible to ignore.
So choosing a Guatemalan coffee wasn't simply a sourcing decision. It was a way to honor where my story began.

This medium roast begins as specialty-grade, single-origin coffee from the highlands of Huehuetenango, Guatemala, where approximately 400 family-owned farms cultivate coffee at elevations between 1,800 and 2,000 meters.
Before roasting, the beans are aged in reclaimed whiskey barrels, adding depth and aroma without adding alcohol. The result is a cup with rich notes of brown sugar, smooth nougat, and a bright citrus finish.
Balanced. Approachable. Full of character. Basically, she understood the assignment.
Why a whiskey barrel?
People often ask whether whiskey barrel-aged coffee contains alcohol.
It doesn't.
The barrel influences the aroma and flavor during the aging process before roasting. The coffee remains alcohol-free.
