Hello, I'm Monica.

Born in Guatemala, raised in the United States, and apparently blessed with a permanent resting caffeinated face, I'm the founder of Moli Brew.

I'm also a mom, a veteran, a longtime legal professional, and someone who's always believed that good design, good coffee, and a healthy sense of humor can make everyday life a little better.

What started as a lifelong dream eventually became Moli Brew. A lifestyle brand where every collection tells a story, every cup has character, and every detail is intentionally chosen.

Today, Moli Brew continues to grow through specialty coffee, artisan tea, thoughtfully curated goods, visual storytelling, and Moli Ai, my AI brand ambassador.

Somewhere Between Two Worlds

Growing up in a Latin household while being raised in the United States often felt like living in two countries at once. Outside the front door was one world. Inside was another.

It took me a while to realize that balancing both wasn't something I needed to fix or hide. I'm proud of all the moments that shaped me into who I am.

Looking back, I think living between those two worlds taught me resilience, perspective, a better sense of self, and an appreciation for both worlds.

Knowing exactly who you are isn't something everyone is handed.

Sometimes it's something you spend years figuring out for yourself.

The Face I've Always Had

I've had the same resting face for as long as I can remember.

Long before it became a slogan, or somehow turned into part of a coffee brand. It was simply...my face.

And trust me, it was something I had always been self conscious about.

In part because people have always had opinions about it.

But eventually I realized that people who comment on someone else's face usually have more going on than the person they're commenting on.

So I stopped apologizing for it.

Ironically, one of the most misunderstood things about me ended up becoming one of the most recognizable parts of my brand.

Learning to Trust Myself

I've been a single parent since my son was three years old.

He's nineteen now.

That's sixteen years of making decisions without having someone else to hand them to.

I never tried to be two parents.

I just tried to be the best one I could be.

I also know I didn't do it entirely alone.

My family stepped in whenever they could, for school pickups, schedule changes, night classes, helping when work required travel. Their support made a lot of difficult days possible, and I'll always be grateful for that.

Watching my son grow into a young adult has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

Whatever he decides to chase next, I'll always be in his corner.

The Career Nobody Really Sees

For more than twenty years, I've worked behind the scenes in the legal world.

It's not the glamorous side of business.

It's the side built on precision.

Systems.

Deadlines.

Details.

It's the work that quietly keeps companies moving.

And honestly it's been so rewarding.

Spending two decades in that environment shaped the entrepreneur in me.

I like organized things.

Clear answers.

Well-designed systems.

I don't love guessing.

I like knowing.

And I can see those same instincts all over Moli Brew.

Every process, every collection, and every decision reflects that same attention to detail.

The Dream That Refused to Leave

Somewhere between raising a son and managing a full-time career, I also got my college degree and went to fashion school.

Fashion wasn't the career I ended up pursuing, but it never really left me either.

It's in the way I think about color.

Photography.

Packaging.

Design.

It's one of the reasons Moli Brew became more than a coffee company. I wanted every collection to feel thoughtfully designed, not just thoughtfully roasted.

It's also probably why some of my coffee names sound like they belong on a clothing rack.

A Few Other Chapters

I'm an Air Force veteran.

I don't usually lead with that because I joined right out of high school and it feels like another lifetime ago.

I was also part of an adult synchronized figure skating team at one point.

Both taught me discipline and resilience.

And somewhere along the way I became a lot more selective with my time, my energy, and the people I allow into my life.

I became more intentional.

The Life I Actually Like

I'm an introvert who somehow keeps ending up in these amazing situations in rooms full of equally-amazing people.

However, I'm happiest with an iced coffee, a passport, a good design idea, and enough quiet to hear myself think.

But at the end of the day, my heart runs on my children (both human and four-legged), all of whom seem to compete with each other on who can be more mischievous than the other.

So...Why Coffee?

How else do you think I got through all my adventures? Haha!

Coffee has always been the ritual, my ritual at least.

The excuse to slow down.

The thing sitting beside me while I worked through ideas, long days, hard conversations, career changes, new beginnings, and even the occasional chisme.

The coffee didn't create the brand.

Life did.

After years of dreaming about building something of my own, I finally stopped waiting for the perfect time and started Moli Brew.

I wasn't just creating a place to buy good coffee.

I was creating a lifestyle brand built around thoughtful design, quiet confidence, and the idea that good tools don't change who you are, they help you become more of who you already are. Resting face and all.

Whether that's a great cup of coffee, a beautifully designed mug, an editorial story, or an AI brand ambassador, everything I create starts with the same goal: make everyday life a little more thoughtful, a little more enjoyable, and a little more authentically you.

Eventually, five words managed to describe the brand, and maybe me, better than I ever could.

Caffeinated.

Unbothered.

Selective.

Authentic.

Unapologetic.

Turns out I'd been living the brand long before I ever gave it a name.
