About the Coffee

Grown in the Amazonas region of northern Peru, this coffee is cultivated in the Amazonian Andes at elevations ranging from 1,600 to 1,800 meters above sea level. Washed processed and carefully grown, it offers a smooth body with notes of lemon, herbal tea, and chocolate, complemented by a balanced acidity and clean finish.

This coffee comes from El Palto (Asociación de Productores Cafetaleros Juan Marco El Palto), a cooperative founded in 2003 by just 35 small-scale coffee farmers. Today, the cooperative includes 189 members who collectively produce organic and Fair Trade certified coffee across approximately 550 hectares.

Women play an important role within El Palto, representing 40 of the cooperative's members and serving alongside their male counterparts on the Board of Directors. Together, they work to strengthen specialty coffee production, improve profitability, and support the long-term success of farming families throughout the region.
